well its term 3 already and 1/4 of our jc life has passed already leh!
CTs is over and its time to die (for some of us at least.)

24th Feb 07- Surprise Dinner!

Went to school to do some work after the failed attempts at home. I think the amphi's quite a nice place to study, apart from the library or canteen, cause of the scenery and the occasional breeze (and maybe the piano :D). Maybe the morning meetings at the L'odge have made me fond of the place. Got on the phone with Wanchee who just wouldn't believe I was in school and that the og didn't iceskate as planned.

Wanchee: Huh then where are you now?
Farishino: A few metres away from you.
Wanchee: YA RIGHT. Your "few metres" is like what, 5 km away?
Farishino: -.-' No really! Wanna bet?
Wanchee: Seriously! Where are you?
Farishino: A few metres away from you! Ok you just wait at wherever you are I go there now.

Met Brian later, who was enjoying the tunes I was playing on the piano, when Athena Chew decided to call us to accompany her at Swensens, cause she was literally reserving seats for OG. So we reluctantly dragged ourselves away from the grand piano and the dramafeste hype and decided to call up the rest to finalise the numbers for dinner later.

Farishino: Where are you?
AlfredToh: Swensens la
Farishino: Huh you're there already?!
Another voice in the background: Eh who's that calling? *giggles*
Farishino: *enlightened* Ok nvm, we'll see you there.

Finally got our seats later at Swensens; Lois and Lucas had joined us. Dinner was exceptionally interesting. More voicemails for our OGLs :). Brian pointed out to me some interesting observations he had made. We ordered a Firehouse for Lucas! Haha strawberry icecream! Nice or not Alfred?
I quote Athena Chew, "Why aren't you all properly dressed? See must dress like him; next time you mustn't wear those!" I shall leave it as that for now.

27th Feb 07- Lucas' Birthday!

Sexy 17! Presented Lucas with the Swakus ring! Luckily Sam didn't go mental over it. preeecioussss... We even put up Happy Birthday Lucas on the walkway windows facing the parade square, but the weather just HAD to condemn us. Where's assembly when you need it! Bio Test and varying timetables, so celebrations had to be postponed.

28th Feb 07- Bday Lunch!

Finally assembly went ahead as usual and the school wished Lucas a belated Happy Birthday. OG lunch later, where we treated ourselves to a nice chocolate cake. Got so full afterwards, it was a good thing we didn't eat anything prior. Ouh and Sam had this magic lamp with her, so Lucas and I decided to test its accuracy. Haha hope you had a great birthday Lucas! Yay swakus is teh rock3rz.

14th Feb!
The day when some 70% of the ex-RI guys celebrated valentine's for the very first time in their lives. As expected, the turnout at the l'odge was better than usual! Us swakus guys, probably the nicest bunch you'll find in RJC, got the ladies really nice vday gifts even wanchee had to let slip how sweet we were. I mean, you could barely count the number of girls from the other ogs who stopped by to take a good look at the plushies and chains that we gave. In return, we were treated to a breakfast set of brownies, cookies and chocolate bars before assembly even started. A record. The exchanging of vday gifts was interesting, especially seeing the range of gifts that people gave one another. Of course there were some who received a dozen or more than others, but as jiawen said, it's the thought that counts! Vday 2007 turned out well indeed! Thanks to everyone for the gifts!

Fastforward to [take.5]wan.chee!

Our og is really pro! Hooray for the biathletes! L'ruz Lucas and his partner got first for the open category while peishan and weehao notched third. It was only unfortunate that I was suffering a shoulder injury; it could've been a one-two-three sweep for swakus but i didn't want to risk a few more weeks of physio sessions for one-arm swimming.

Talentime rocked! Sam & Benny were IMBA! Pumping chests and inflatable tummies! Good thing my senior got it on video, should be up on youtube soon enough. Oh and we saw chris' beatboxer friend as well haha! Do the robot!

OG met up after the whole thing ended. Being swakus, we released a swakus balloon into the sky :) Headed to cineleisure for lunch afterwards, where aaron was desperate to watch a movie. No seats, late screenings, wanchee in school and athena's mum calling her to go home, so we went to Bishan. Well, we entertained ourselves along the way suanning athena and her balloons as well as tricking wanchee into believing that 12 og members were coming when only aaron athena brian jiawen and i were left. Oh and we met Mrs Chew at NTUC! hahahalfre:D

Caught up with wanchee at the food court, where the lack of plans made aaron buy ice kacang and me playing poker with brian with jiawen stoning at the three of us. As we were leaving to browse for an upcoming event, wanchee's friends were envious as her og actually bothered to go to j8 just to meet up with her, even though it wasnt a school day. See! Aren't we nice people? Swakus rocks and swakus loves wanchee!

Hello dearest swakus!

Today might not have been all fun and laughter, but at the end of the day I think it's still been enjoyable! To me at least.. We actually spent almost the entire day together with our OG-mates! Like Wanchee said, it was sweet! Just a pity she couldn't join us for breakfast or dinner or anything at all. And an absolute pity there was Chem SPA too!

Congratulations to everyone for their results! And Carolyn and Lois whatever happens we'll always be behind you =)

Oh and I realised that I knew Wanchee's brother from November last year and that he waved to me when we were at their house. And I didn't recognise him at all. So I didn't wave back. Oops ><.

swakus will be attending the HHH party! :D

We're hoping that this would be the biggest turnout since orientation. Just to let you know, 9th feb would be exactly a month after orientation ended for all of us. And we'll be there celebrating a full month as RJC students! hooray!

9th feb would also be the day when most of us (er-hem) will be collecting our O-level results. To HMT students, may you get at least a D7 so you wont have to mug our mother tongues again. To Lois, Carolyn and Taichen! We wish you all the best and hope to see you in RJ uniform next time ok! To those who arent indulging themselves in any of this anxiety, just hope you wont have to see new faces in your HMT classes.

9th feb will be a day full of fun and laughter! let's go swakus! :D

~~MUSE CONCERT!~~

16th jan was the day that many including me have been waiting for ages! The build-up to the concert was really intense, i had a hard time trying to sleep strategising on how to beat the crowd and to be right in front of muse, how to sneak backstage and get autographs and maybe pictures with them..
sorry wrong blog.

hooray 2nd swakus post-orientation outing yesterday! It's the west side this time, at the jurong entertainment centre- singapore's largest collection of ice that doesnt melt away within hours. We were to meet at jurong east at 12, but me being me got up at 9.30 and realised how much stuff i had to do prior to leaving home, so i had to rush through the morning routines, as well as icing me shoulder and then deep-heating and massaging it (i preferred the physiotherapist's though), and topping it all off with strengthening excercises! And guess what, I got on the train at 12 sharp.

Got off at Jurong east and some random woman with no passes or certificates whatsoever came up to me asking for a donation for which i cooked up an excuse saying that my friend (jiawen) had borrowed cash from me and i was going to go get my money back so that i could return to her and pay some $2 to an unknown charity. Escaped the devil and met up with the 2 l'ruzes and peistick at kfc, then resorted to watching some leet guy trashing the arcade highscores with our jaws open. Machine. Sharm came about half an hour later, and so we proceeded to the rink, but not before lucasex's siblings arrived and gave us a preview of how skating on ice would be like. One thing we didnt witness though- speed. Not to worry, Farish's getting on the ice soon!

And so I did, with the others. Lucas, of course, had the honour of doing a half lap before the rest of us even got our grip. For the next 5-10 minutes, that was what did. Desperately clinging onto the sides of the rink for support; i even forgot i had a shoulder injury! Farishino got really bored, and since one doesnt learn till he falls, i summoned my courage and let go. Only to fall. But it wasnt all that bad ok! I did go off balance a lot, and to manage to stay on my feet (or on the sides of them) was no big feat anyone could accomplish. Ask either jiawen, peistick or kamala! Well the rest of the girls were not that bad actually! And that's cause they had prior experience in skating. I, as promised, was gonna speedskate on my very first.

I started to run, literally, all the while recalling how the ice hockey players did it as they were trying to chase the puck. The only puck i was chasing in this case was the sides, for support when i went a tad too fast the inertia (fine, i dropped physics already!) couldnt keep up of course. Hey but it was fun! i still remember imitating teemu selanne, though the rest of those who were watching me begged to differ. We saw some really pro guys though; a couple of them were scaring us off, braking right in front of us while we were trying to get our balance. Lucas and his siblings didnt help either. Trying to persuade me into jumping on the ice- something which i simply couldnt resist. Oh and there were a couple of instances where they sprayed foam from the top to celebrate the birthdays! Good thing i was wearing black, i had my top polka-dotted in no time. We also og-skated, only to have one of us constantly losing his/her balance. Flailing arms. haha.

Hoho, Alfred and Athena arrived later, and as they didnt want to skate they decided to meet us up again later after they, oh well, i was too busy speedskating. There were instances when my feet got really tired and my ankles were sore from the bad stance i was adopting, and thankfully after some really bad skating, i tightened the laces on my skates which were really loose and i found rhythm again. The rest were still trying to suan me saying that i was running instead of speedskating, not to mention skating itself. It was during my last round when lucas told us his duration was over (the four of us could stay on forever) that i really felt myself skating. too bad the rest didnt see it. At least I did more laps than the other 3! And i was fast ok! All in all, we had tons of fun! Some really good og bonding session. I mean it word for word. Jiawen and I suggested forming an iceskating cca, where the five of us could become part of the exco! Leadership positions! And we also would love to bring the rest of our og here as well. But not before we're able to skate like the pros though, and scare the crap out of you! so annoyinggg :)

Headed to town afterwards by bus against the will of a few, but especially since the thought of seeing that woman again made my decision. Caught up with daniuyongen and the ogls afterwards! they went to the non-halal hans for dinner, as i looked upon them and the thought of oldchangkee and the ora dinner keeping me from committing sins. I mean, fish and chips and spaghetti and soup and garlic bread! which non-anorexic could resist?

so i left them :( afterwards and caught up with my fellow softballers who were quick to ask me about the condition of my shoulder. i really miss playing with them! Thank god for sportzdoc and belgian physiotherapists! Went to hwee miem's place for some really nice dinner (halal of course) and socialising with the lads there. Watched videos of ourselves during the tournaments held over course of last year, where ORA softball firmly established itself as one of the biggest softball organisations in singapore. hooray! what a saturday!
